Acupressure is a science and an art that originated in China over 5,000 years ago and is one of the many techniques found inTraditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Acupressure has many forms including Jin Shin, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Tui Na and other modalities -all of them using various techniques for stimulating the same vital points used in Acupuncture, called tsubos or kyūshos among other names, to balance the flow of chi which results in relieving pain, accelerating recovery from injury and illness, enhancing vitality, and protecting from disease.
Ayurveda, meaning “the knowledge for long life,” is the traditional medicinal system of India, originating around 1,500 BC.
Chi, pronounced "chee", or "kee" when spelled "Qi" or "Ki", is the vital energy that gives life to all organisms. In TCM theory, the entire universe is made of Chi which is governed by various forces. Mountains, rocks, rivers, wind, food, sound, light, movement, forms, colors, and behaviors like laughter or sulking are all considered expressions of Chi.

Jin Shin, or Jin Shin Acupressure is essentially Acupuncture without needles. Tsubos are held at the finger tips with light to moderate pressure for 1-15 minutes until the pulsations at these points synchronize which indicates they have achieved balance to the flow of chi along their respective meridians. This balancing brings harmony and health to both the body and the mind -healing injuries, dispelling illness, and maintaining overall health & wellbeing.
Meridian(s) are like water canals. Instead of water, these pathways conduct Chi throughout the body and mind. These pathways connect the Tsubos that Acupuncturists and Acupressurists work with which act like control valves to moderate the flow of Chi along the Meridians. Stress, illness, or injury can cause those "control valves" to dysfunction and cause Chi to become excessive on one side and deficient on the other -just like water would if there was an obstruction at some point along a river or canal. This leads to various dysfunctions and distress of body and mind.
Sex Therapy is a type of psychotherapy used to address sexual function, sexual feelings and intimacy, in individual or joint therapy with your partner(s). Sex therapy is provided by psychologists, social workers, physicians, and licensed therapists. Certified sex therapists are credentialed by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Certified sex therapists do not have sexual contact with clients. Sexual coaching that involves physical contact is not part of mainstream sex therapy.
